Najsjajnija kometa pod nazivom "46P/Virtanen" proći će 16. decembra relativno blizu Zemlje, na udaljenosti od oko 11.265.408 kilometara.

Zemljanima ova udaljenost može da se učini ekstremno velika, ali će kometa biti jedna od deset najbližih kometa koja će proći pored naše planete od 1950. godine.

Internet stranica koja piše o astronomiji "Sky and Telescope" piše da će prolazak komete "46P/Virtanen" biti jedan od 50 najbližih susreta Zemlje sa jednom kometom još od devetog vijeka.

Sjaj komete mogao bi da bude dovoljno jak da se vidi golim okom, javio je AP.

Kometa "46P/Virtanen" bit će najsjajnija u posljednjih nekoliko godina.
